Advert (not finished)

How are audiences positioned by the use of media language and representation in the ads

The first of the two adverts is a savethechildren charity ad that focuses on the idea of war. The money they are raising would go to the syrian war help and the main idea they are targeting here is that most people who don't donate say that it doesn't effect them and the theme is that what if it was locally so the ad focuses on what if there was a war in the uk.

The ad's usp is the fact that its only framed by looking at this child. This makes the audience feel what she feels as she's the only one we follow. This appeals to the sense of sympathy and encourages them to donate.

The use of colour in the ad tells the audience that it is slowly decaying into anarchy as it starts of very colourful and light and then slowly transitions into being very dark and bland. The clothes which were once very bright have been drowned out and positions the audience in a sympathetic and sad mood.

There is no music in the advert emphasising the background news reports and also emphasising the severity of the situation. This positions the audience to feel sympathetic towards the child and also understand the hardships the children in over countries deal with .
